COVID BREAKOUT – FLY-IN & RIDE-OUT

FLY-IN – Since Covid hit and social distancing became our norm, you’ve been itching for a place to go and a reason to leave your home airport. Besides, your plane needs a bit of exercise. Maybe you do too?
Experience the great facilities and wonderful community of the Bradford County Airport. Enjoy live music and food from a food truck that will be on-site. See different airplanes, and watch some take-offs and landings. Part of our mission at the Bradford County Airport is to raise community awareness of our amazing airport and facilities, and encourage the general public, who may never become aviators, to enjoy what the airport has to offer.
SATURDAY- Fly-in Saturday afternoon/evening, August 1 and pitch at tent with us! There is no cost to attend the event or pitch a tent. Tailgate with us into the night Saturday and swap flying and riding stories making new friends and rekindling old friendships.
SUNDAY- If you can’t join us for camping Saturday night because your’re needed for the backyard BBQ, then don’t miss Sunday! Pack as many people in your plane as you can! Come for cheap AVgas (rumor has it that Bradford County’s already great airplane fuel prices will be dropped below what-you-can-believe, ONLY for this event). Come to show off your airplane, your piloting skills, meet and greet other pilots, enjoy food and live music! Pack your bicycle in the plane too, and get ready to ride-out! Of course, you don’t need to be part of the road ride to be part of the fun. In fact, you might not fly or ride. We still welcome you to join us!
DRIVE-IN – Don’t have a plane? You can call the event “Drive-In & Ride-Out” then! Drive yourself to the airport in whatever wingless vehicle you have.
CAMP OVERNIGHT SATURDAY NIGHT! – Bring an RV, camper, or tent to spend the night at the airport Saturday night, August 1. There is no cost to attend the event or pitch a tent. Tailgate with us into the night Saturday and swap flying and riding stories making new friends and rekindling old friendships. While we cannot furnish alcohol for the event, you may BYOB on premises.
ROAD RIDE – Bicycle Road Ride Sunday morning, August 2, starting at 9:00 am.
FOOD TRUCK- The Jack Wagon will be offering food and drinks for purchase onsite at the airport from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Sunday.

ROAD RIDE – Click the links to view the route options. There are three options to choose from. Each route will challenge your legs and your mind as you encounter some “I want my mama” climbs.

Join with other cyclist and experience the beauty of the Endless Mountains on all blacktop roads. Choose your mileage from either the 12.8-mile, 20-mile, or 37-mile ride. The course will take you from, and back to, the airport with less than 1.5 miles of cycling the same road twice. On the 37-mile ride we will climb several mountains, cross Route 187 twice (once in Durell, and another time near Spring Lake), descend to the river valley along the gorgeous French Asylum loop, climb through Rienze, out to New Era, then out to Evergreen, and back down to the airport via Liberty Corners.
There is no cost to bring your RV or tent Saturday night, although donations will be put to good use by CHOP!

- COST- Suggested $20 donation payable to BCAA; $25 mailed in early for an event t-shirt

Donations will be accepted and all event proceeds will be donated to CHOP (Child Hunger Outreach Partners). CHOP is a local organization making a big impact locally and beyond in the lives of so many people with their mission to end childhood hunger in the United States and create an entire generation that doesn’t know hunger.

While we, as citizens of our country and world, have experienced the sad and devastating outbreak of COVID, it’s now time to BREAKOUT from our isolation and experience the goodness of community! The airport has been granted, by the PA governor’s office, the ability to have up to 250 people at this event. There’s plenty of room to spread out on the spacious grounds of the airport.
As long as you are healthy, running no fever, and have not been in contact with anyone known to have COVID, then please join us on Saturday and/or Sunday, August 1-2, 2020 in Towanda, PA for Bradford County Airport’s COVID BREAKOUT; FLY-IN & RIDE-OUT Event!
